Biography

Gwenda R. Lamb was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, is a graduateGwenda Lamb's Biography
of Bolton High School, received her B.A. in Pre-Law from Louisiana College, and her J.D. from L.S.U. in 1988.

In 1988 she received her license and has been engaged in the practice of law since this time.

Gwenda Lamb has been married to James E. Lamb, Jr. since 1983 and the couple have four children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and son-in-law, along with three grandchildren.


1988-1992 Gwenda practiced with the firm whose name at that time was Bolen, Erwin,Johnson & Coleman, an insurance defense firm. In addition to handling insurance defense matters, Gwenda Lamb practiced in the area of estates and handled most of the matters coming into the firm in this area.
1992-1993 Gwenda worked for Steven W. Harris & Associates, a plaintiff firm handling personal injury and some workers’ compensation claims. Gwenda handled estate related matters as necessary.
1993-Present Gwenda opened her own firm on November 1, 1993, and has enjoyed assisting clients and families with estate matters since this time. Real Estate and Business Organizations are also handled as ancillary matters bearing upon the practice of estate law.

Gwenda R. Lamb attends Grace Presbyterian Church, is an avid gardener and member of the Alexandria Garden Club, and a member of P.W.N., Professional Women’s Network. She enjoys hiking with her family and her dogs, “Monti” and "Pascal", canoeing, vocal performance, reading, writing, and researching various issues. She is glad to receive invitations to speak to various groups on topics or issues specified by the group, or on new developments and trends, and has spoken to civic, professional, and church groups.

She is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and has served in the House of Delegates for the Louisiana Bar Association. She is a member of Wealth Counsel and Elder Counsel, both of whom continually educate their members and operate as a "think tank" for new solutions to estate related problems. She is also a member of NAELA (National Academy Of Elder Law Attorneys), an association interested and influential in elder affairs and the elder laws development, which laws being enacted affecting senior citizens. NAELA also conducts much education which informs regarding issues that are specific to our elderly population because only attorneys with full understanding of these senior specific issues can serve seniors and their families well. She is also a V.A. Accredited attorney.

Gwenda Lamb has been qualified as an expert in the area of successions in the Ninth Judicial District Court and has provided testimony for this court.

Gwenda has been invited by NBI and has participated in conducting estate seminars for attorneys.  She has also spoken at a CPA convention on estate matters for the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants.
